Terms & Conditions

The following terms apply to registration marks sold via this website and the purchaser’s statutory rights remain unaffected.

• Some registrations are subject to VAT.
• All payments made by credit or debit card are subject to relevant fees charged by the respective card issuer.
• All registration purchases are subject to Department for Transport (DfT) fees.
• It is illegal to display any registrations purchased in a manner not approved by the DfT and they should not be displayed until the transfer has been completed by DfT. The vehicle to which the registration is to be transferred, must be taxed, insured and have a relevant road test certificate.
• We do not make any guarantees that the registrations requested/purchased will be supplied to the purchaser. Should the registration become unavailable for whatever reason, the purchaser will be offered a full refund of any monies paid unless the purchaser is at fault in any way. Liability for a refund shall be limited to amount paid by the purchaser and no claims for damages or other costs (e.g. interest) shall not be entertained.
• Should a part payment be made, the remaining balance will be due in 5 working days from date of first payment. Failure to pay remaining balance on registration(s) purchased shall render the purchase null and void and all monies paid to date will become non-refundable.
• Prices quoted on our website or marketing material are subject to change without notice. Whilst Reg People make every effort to ensure prices quoted are up-to-date, issues can arise outside of our control and mistakes can occur. Should such a situation arise, our liability shall be limited to the amount of monies paid in respect of the registration(s) which has (or have) been paid for.
• The purchaser’s rights under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013 shall be deemed lost should the purchaser commence prospect of accepting agreement to purchase a registration via Reg People.
• Registrations listed on our website and other marketing material, belong to us, the DVLA, our clients or other third parties.
• Should the purchaser renege on any instruction to purchase a registration either at the beginning or during the transaction processing period, Reg People shall not be liable to make payment to the seller. Reg People’s liability shall be limited to cost of advertising the registration on our website.
• In order to transfer registrations in good time, the appropriate paperwork has to be submitted within the requisite period that will be explained by our Customer Service Team. Should the purchaser not supply the appropriate paperwork in the required time, we reserve the right to take any necessary action to mitigate our liability and exposure to loss, and recover costs from the purchaser.
• Please note that delays in transfers may arise due to a number of different reasons such as actions of the seller who owns the registration, or other entities such as the DVLA. Reg People will always endeavour to expedite transfers but we cannot be held responsible for the actions of others. Therefore, once an inordinate amount of time has transpired for any particular transaction, we shall be please to refund any monies that may have been paid to us in respect of any registration.
• Once the registration is transferred onto a Certificate of Retention, it will be purchaser’s responsibility to ensure that the registration is transferred to a vehicle before the certificate expires, or that the certificate is renewed in good time.
• Reg People shall not be responsible for any mistakes that are made by the purchaser. The purchaser should ensure that they provide correct information to Reg People and that once DVLA, has approved a transfer, any liability assumed by Reg People shall be nulled.
• All registrations must adhere to the strict guidelines issued by the relevant government and/or appointed agency such as the DVLA.
• Reg People does not promote or condone any illegal activity. Any registration plates displayed in its marketing material has been provided from a ‘show’ perspective and should not be construed by anyone to sanction such activity on UK or other European roads.
• Should any purchases be cancelled, the purchaser shall be liable to pay a cancellation fee of 10% of the total transaction value. This money will be deducted from any deposit placed with us. The registration will then be placed for sale again.
• For any registrations supplied to us for sale, the seller warrants that he or she owns the registration or has authority to sell the registration, also authorises Reg People to advertise it for sale on their behalf.
• Any submissions made to Reg People shall be deemed to be appropriate for publication without the need to verify their veracity and compliance with UK law. Therefore, the submitter shall assume all liability for any material submitted to Reg People and indemnify Reg People against any costs, legal or damages.
• The terms and conditions specified on this page do not affect the purchaser’s statutory rights and we reserve to make changes to the above at any time.
• By registering their details with Reg People, the purchaser authorises for us to contact them for the purpose of marketing our company until they explicitly request to be removed from our mailing database. This covers email addresses supplied when signing up for our newsletter, requesting a valuation or purchasing a registration.
